Interactive Climate Change Workshop

Concerned about more severe storms and increased risk of flooding? Wondering how cities and towns can address these risks?

Please join us for a unique opportunity to address these questions!

Who should attend? Everyone is welcome! Interested citizens and professionals, municipal staff and officials, state agency personnel, NGOs, businesses, teachers and professors. Please encourage your friends and colleagues to register and attend with you!

What is this event about? The City of Cranston is working with the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve, MIT, and the Consensus Building Institute to test an innovative way to help communities understand and prepare for the potential impacts of climate change.

What will happen at the event? Using role-play simulations- or games- the workshop will allow participants to explore ways to decrease the community's vulnerability to flooding and its impacts on homes, infrastructure, economic stability, and quality of life.

Questions? Please contact Toral Patel at tpatel@mit.edu or (916) 817-7345. For further project information please visit http://necap.mit.edu.

This project is a partnership between the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the City of Cranston, and the Consensus Building Institute.
